Richard Vargas What does the goose symbolize for Bodega?
The goose symbolizes the sacrifice to get Bodega the girl that he is in love with, Vera. The goose is going to get killed by Dona Romonita to get Vera, the woman Bodega wants to come back from Miami. The goose represents his love that stands for is love to Vera. When Dona Ramonita tells Nene and Julio tat "I have seen the woman he is after. I have seen her in dreams." This quote shows that she's talking about tat Bodega's dream girl is always in his dreams. Bodega is chasing for the love of his life.
Good job asking an analytical question about symbolism. Make sure to proofread and you could add at least one more sentence of explanation, explaining more of the meaning of the quote you selected and how it proves your answer to the question. 9/10
In chapter 6 it talks about how Chino finally wants to accept Bodega's offer, but with some exceptions. While the chapter was mainly about getting a goose for a sacrifice at the end of the chapter Chino discusses his idea with Sapo. When leaving the women who did the sacrifice's house Chino said " Tell him I can deliver Vera. That's the woman he's after, right? Blanca's aunt?... Tell him I know where she is and I can reach her all I want from him is a two-bedroom apartment in one of his buildings. Tell him I got a kid coming and I need the extra room" This quote is saying that Chino as much as he disagrees with Bodega's plan, knows that he needs to do this for his coming child. Also, it is saying that he want to have a better life and feels like he doesn't have another choice. Chino knows that Blanca is not going to agree with him about the Bodega part, but she can't deny that they need that extra room.
What willy bodega is saying is that he is not doing legal things but for kids to not go that path and go to college.Willy talks to Chino and gives him advice."The things i do just means to get me what i need and when i am done i am going to be respectable and send my kids to Harvard like Joe Kennedy. What do these characters feel about another. It means that she is not grown and cant do what she wants. One quote that supports this is that Willy says he wants him to be successful and go on the right path not the streets.
This response is confused. It's very difficult to figure out who you are referring to. For example, who is "she" when you say "she is not grown"? How does this relate to the quote about Kennedy? Are these two questions or one? REVISE for higher grade. 4/10
